Layers are essentially what will compose your final image. You can add as many layers as you want in a template.

To create a layer, select a tool from the toolbar. When the tool is selected, move the cursor over to the template area and press and hold the left mouse button. Then, move the cursor to make the layer have the desired size. Release the button to actually create the layer.

You can move & resize the layer after it has been created so don’t worry.

Also, the order of layers matters. If you need to have a layer above/under other layers, make sure to rearrange them from the layers panel on the left hand side.
